Ask us about flexible working options to fit with your work/life balance - HappytoTalkFlexible The Role This is an exciting opportunity managing and developing the Housing Standards service; providing professional and technical expertise; and ensuring our legal obligations in relation for property standards and other critical interventions to improve the health, safety and wellbeing of residents are met. A varied and challenging role managing a team of qualified professionals with great opportunities to develop staff through apprenticeships and further professional study. You will identify new opportunities to enhance the service through partnership and close collaborative work, including across Community Housing Services, exploring new opportunities and building a positive contribution to housing and health, through the wider public health agenda. About You You will be a qualified Environmental Health Officer, highly knowledgeable with a strong housing background, appreciative of the complexities and interdependencies across disciplines. You ll be an experienced manager with excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills to establish and maintain effective teams and develop partnerships. You will lead and develop projects, influencing and negotiating opportunities for funding and service development, whilst being highly organised to ensure compliance with changing legislation and regulation. You will have high competency with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System, wide variety of enforcement and good understanding of housing and health issues and experience tackling empty homes, and licensing schemes.
