We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Support Worker to support one of our clients, providing essential support and care during evenings and weekends. This role is ideal for someone who already has other commitments or part-time employment but is looking for a fulfilling, flexible role that allows them to make a real difference in a young child's life.
About the Role: The support worker will assist a young girl with a range of needs, including epilepsy management, as well as providing support for physical and learning disabilities. The role will predominantly take place during evenings and weekends, allowing flexibility for those with other commitments. The successful candidate will be expected to drive and live near Knutsford or Middlewich to ensure reliable transportation for the role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide one-on-one support for our client, ensuring her safety, wellbeing, and engagement throughout the evening and weekend.
2. Assist with epilepsy management, including monitoring and responding appropriately in the event of a seizure.
3. Support the child's physical and learning development, providing encouragement and assistance with daily activities.
4. Be a friendly, reliable, and proactive presence, ensuring that the child enjoys her time and feels fully supported.
5. Maintain accurate records of care provided, following all relevant procedures and protocols.
6. Establish a trusting and positive relationship, encouraging the child's confidence and independence.
About You:
1. You will ideally have experience working with children, especially those with learning disabilities and/or physical challenges.
2. Experience in managing or supporting epilepsy care is essential, and any additional experience in healthcare or social care would be a benefit.
3. You must be a driver and live near Knutsford or Middlewich to ensure you can reliably travel to the child's home.
4. You should be genuinely interested and engaged in supporting the child, with a passion for making a positive impact in her life.
5. You should be patient, compassionate, and committed to providing the best care possible, ensuring the child feels safe, happy, and supported.
6. The ideal candidate will want to build a lasting relationship with the child and her family, with the willingness to stay with the role long-term and contribute to her ongoing care.
