There is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Ward Sister (band 6) to apply for a 12-month secondment on Ward C29 in the Queens Centre. This position is for a committed, experienced, and aspiring nurse to join an enthusiastic nursing team that provides high standards of holistic nursing care to patients with cancer who have a variety of medical, nursing, and psychological needs.
The ward Junior Sister/Junior Charge Nurse will be a motivated, enthusiastic person with excellent leadership and communication skills, serving as a role model to lead the team by example in delivering caring, compassionate end-of-life care to patients.
Main duties of the job
You will be an inclusive proactive member of the senior nursing team within specialist services. You must be able to use your own initiative by leading, developing, improving, and monitoring standards of care to ensure safety for all patients and staff. The Junior Sister/Junior Charge Nurse will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team to provide a quality service for our patients. You should have knowledge of the complex discharge process and be able to work collaboratively with internal colleagues and external agencies to provide seamless and safe discharge. The new post holder will be supported in their role and will have the opportunity to achieve their full potential as a competent and effective ward Junior Sister/Charge Nurse.
