Join Our Team
You will serve as our Legal Counsel and be a key member of our Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance team. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day legal and regulatory support for our P&L leaders and their respective business development and underwriting teams in the UK. You will report to our Head of Legal & Compliance, UK.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Advising the Lloyd’s managing agent Sirius International Managing Agency on business written by Lloyd’s Syndicate 1945 as well as our UK branch operation of SiriusPoint International Insurance.
2. Advising and assisting with insurance contract review and drafting, including but not limited to Delegated Authority/Binding Authority Agreements, TOBAs, and Claims Administrator Agreements.
3. Drafting and reviewing a variety of commercial agreements including commutations, novations, trusts, and confidentiality agreements, as needed.
4. Working with the Compliance Team to identify and analyze legal issues, and provide advice, counsel, and training on insurance and regulatory matters.
5. Advising on product-related support, such as policy language legal reviews and assisting with the preparation and approval of marketing and advertising from a legal perspective.
6. Identifying coverage issues and potential litigation risk and coordinating with the in-house Litigation Team on such matters.
7. Staying abreast of legal and regulatory developments affecting SiriusPoint’s products and operations, including conducting legal research and preparing memoranda regarding legislative developments.
8. Handling special projects as needed.

Your Skills and Abilities Should Include:
1. Entrepreneurial Spirit.
2. Substantive contract drafting background (insurance and reinsurance contracting background preferred).
3. Experience as regulatory, claims, or coverage counsel (in-house or external) with experience involving insurance and/or reinsurance matters.
4. Must be a qualified lawyer admitted to practice law in England and Wales.
5. Flexibility with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Strong execution focus. Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
6. Exceptional and intentional collaborator. Able to operate and excel at both strategic and tactical levels.
7. The ability to engage with and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders. Able to bring people together.
