Job Purpose : To manage and handle Marine Liability claims within the London Market Claims team. Reporting to the Head of Claims – London Market in the day to day operation and control of the claims function, to ensure that the Marine Liability & Special Risk Team process and settle claims on a timely and equitable manner, whilst constantly striving to develop and improve service and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Producing feedback to underwriters and management with regards to the structure of their claim issues and related risk information with the goal to improve the overall standard of underwriting in the company. Overseeing recruitment and training of staff to ensure that minimum CPD requirements are met. Demonstrate that Lloyds minimum standards are being met at all times and be in a position to assist underwriters and claims adjusters to progress. Ensures all claims allocated are controlled within company philosophies and SLA’s Providing departmental reports including SLA’s, Metrics on a monthly / Quarterly basis. To be present at market meetings and conference calls when necessary. Ensures customers are treated fairly at all times. Ensures all complaint related issues and all such incidents are logged and concluded in accordance with company policy. Practices and promotes at all times Tokio Marine HCC core values, to both internal and external contacts alike. Undertake any other ad hoc activities/project work required. Skills and Experience Specification: Extensive experience of managing Marine Liability claims, including US Liability experience in the London Market. Ideally 5 years of mentoring / managing a team An excellent knowledge of ECF and the Lloyd’s Claims Schemes. Good experience of handling Binder and Delegated business. Excellent Interpersonal skills are required as the duties of this role involves liaising with outsourcing partners, negotiation and liaising with brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers. Exceptional time management skills are essential and to be able to adapt quickly into the requirements of the role. ACII qualification or working towards.
