Junior Electronics Engineer Guildford Permanent, full time (Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm (with 30 min lunch break) and Friday 08.30am to 12.30pm) Salary: up to £35k DOE Trusted and Reliable Our client, T&R Test Equipment design and manufacture high quality test equipment for the power industry, selling into markets from power distribution to renewables. Their equipment is used world-wide in transmission and distribution, power equipment manufacture, maintenance, and commissioning. It must do the job first time, every time, so theyve designed the units to perform and built them to last. To join their ever expanding and busy engineering department in Guildford, Surrey, they are now looking for an experienced Junior Electronics Engineer you will be working on new projects, including schematic design, PCB design, firmware for the PCB written in C and on maintaining or redesigning old products. Junior Electronics Engineer, the role: Helping with products that maintain the companys reputation for reliability, long term use and build quality Solving problems with electronic circuits and PCBs down to component level and at times repairing faulty circuit boards Training production staff to ensure high quality work before it goes through test Managing documentation in accordance with specification and ISO9001 standards Collaborating with the test and production department Ensuring designs comply with all applicable regulatory requirements Reducing the impact of design changes on product realisation Producing technical documentation that supports customer in the product use, and to provide on-going technical support Junior Electronics Engineer, the person: Previous experience working in an R&D environment (soldering, prototyping, testing, debugging) and in-depth knowledge with analogue and digital electronics is a must Capable of working to and improving company processes and procedures (engineering document control and engineering changes) Component obsolescence Experienced with embedded C software development for microcontrollers (e.g. Microchip, PIC, STM32, RP2040) Familiar with schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design (Fusion/Eagle ideally, or any other similar software) EMC (both designing for and testing to) Enjoy working individually and as part of a small team Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to deal with and manage priorities Desirable Skills: 2D/3D mechanical drawings New electronic/electrical product development Electrical design for high power applications Experience working with EN61010, EN61243, EN61481, IEC1243 Junior Electronics Engineer, the benefits: Competitive salary Free parking onsite in central Guildford 25 days Annual Leave plus Bank holidays Internal training to expand your knowledge Employer pension scheme Life Insurance (Subject to Acceptance) Shutdown over Christmas period Pure Human Resources work in partnership with T&R Test Equipment Limited in providing HR support.
