We're Hiring: Resource Co-ordinator - Power T&D | Balfour Beatty | Derby

Balfour Beatty's Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team is on the lookout for a dedicated and proactive Resource Co-ordinator based in Derby. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in supporting the timely and effective deployment of resources across all UK-based operational project teams.
About the Role:
You'll be supporting the resourcing needs of current and future projects across:
* Overhead Lines (OHL)
* Cabling
* Substations
* Multi-Utility Projects
Your key focus will be ensuring accurate resourcing schedules are maintained and aligned with strategic business requirements.
What you'll be doing
* Assist Resource Managers in planning, allocation, and movements for monthly & weekly project staff to projects.
* Ensure regional resource demands and requirements are supported.
* Liaise with Power T&D Project teams to ensure all resources are in place and support with any resource-related issues.
* Facilitate the movement of resources from project to project.
* Assist with the engagement of subcontract labour to meet resource requirements.
* Effectively communicate with other Power T&D resource co-ordinators and resource managers on day-to-day movements and long-term plans to ensure collaboration in resource deployment.
* Ensure all resource deployment is within governance of the Power T&D Business Gated Lifecycle.
* Carry out weekly calls with Projects and key stakeholders to ensure compliance against resource requests and deal with day-to-day issues.
* Recruit and engage direct employees - complete ATRs (Authority to recruit) and offer documents to meet our demand profile. This includes any international direct resource to support the business.
* Manage the onboarding process for new starters into the business including all documentation, PPE, IT, vehicles, fuel cards, and any other requirements with the assistance of the resource administrator.
* Manage the exit process for any leavers including all documentation, PPE, IT, vehicles, fuel cards, and any other requirements with the assistance of the resource administrator.
* Manage the issue of reporting instructions to relevant parties to capture movements between projects.
* Ensure Resource Request Forms are complete by Project Teams when a project is awarded in line with the resource request process.
* Be a point of contact for Project Managers on resource issues on their projects.
* Manage standby process which includes all forecasting documents and timesheets to be completed and submitted.
* Absence monitoring - The absence reporting line should be managed for all power employees in line with the process.
* Support projects with managing HR issues (temp lay off/investigations/disciplinary issues).
* Support Occupational Health with completing relevant documentation and assist with booking medicals.
* Manage and report on assignment allowance and retention bonuses to ensure accurate payment.
* Support with compiling monthly reports for the resource team.
* Any other duty deemed necessary by line manager.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Excellent planning skills, familiar with project management techniques and applications.
* Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in both the operations and business support functions.
* High tolerance for ambiguity and changing priorities and the ability to plan for contingencies and manage conflicting stakeholder priorities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to consult with a wide range of people at different levels.
* Must have strong IT skills, literate in all Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
* Proven ability to effectively allocate and manage resources to meet resource plans, with the ability to leverage resources to address business challenges.
* Must be flexible, approachable and possess a can-do attitude.
* Have the ability to work well within a team.
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
* Experienced in resource planning across an environment, ideally within the power utilities industry.
* Experience in performance managing/mentoring new operatives.
