Job title: Mechanical Engineering Manager – Platform Systems
Location: Coventry. This is an onsite position
What you’ll be doing:
* Develop design solutions to agreed time, cost and quality in accordance with project or business milestones
* Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design and into build, integration, installation and commissioning activities
* Lead teams to produce documentation required to support the design review process, including: diagrams; technical specifications; supporting calculations; design evidence and justifications
* Ensure design proving and contractual evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority
* Undertake design and presentations to customers and suppliers
* Lead the review of relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately
Your skills and experiences:
* Demonstrable experience in the delivery of mechanical systems through the development lifecycle
* Comprehensive experience of applying technical expertise across the full engineering lifecycle
* Knowledge and experience specifying mechanical equipment and components (heat exchangers, pumps, diesel generators, hydraulic plant, compressors, etc)
* BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a relevant STEM degree
* CEng or capable of achieving CEng
* Recognised leadership qualification (CMI, ILM etc) appropriate to the level of responsibility
The Platform Systems team:
As the Mechanical Engineering Manager in Platform Systems you will have the opportunity to work with a newly forming team based within our new site in Coventry. Working on the SSNA Programme you will support and oversee multiple sub-teams comprising of talented Senior and Principal Engineers to deliver various mechanical systems / equipment for SSNA.
