What does an Assistant Quantity Surveyor do?
As a Commercial / Project Assistant, you will be well supported by a team of Quantity Surveyors, Managers, and Directors who will be on hand to learn from and ask questions.
Your role will be supporting the surveying team with the Quantity Surveying process, which includes:
Pre-contract services
* Measuring
* Production of pricing (Bill of Quantities)
* Tendering - talking to suppliers to obtain estimates based on the measurements and quantities provided
Post-contract services
* Management and administering of sub-contractor payments
* Managing change or variations that occur throughout the process
* Tracking project spend
Final Accounts
* Assist with the production and agreement of accounts on projects worked on
* Assist with the preparation of financial reports as required
* Assist with the preparation of final accounts and claim documents
What skills and experience do you need?
* While having experience in the quantity surveying industry would be beneficial, what's important to us is your enthusiasm, reliability, and commitment to your job and the business.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required, along with a high level of attention to detail and organization.
* You will be dealing with suppliers, sub-contractors, and clients, so being able to communicate effectively and build working relationships is important.
