An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Gastroenterology team for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to assist in the delivery of high-quality Hepatology services throughout the Trust. Working alongside other clinical colleagues, the post holder will provide expert care, treatment, and support for this patient group. The post holder will contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research, and audit as well as developing practice. They will play a key role within the multidisciplinary team to ensure a seamless, coordinated, and timely approach to care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for inpatient and outpatient assessment, education, and clinical management for patients with liver disease and the monitoring of HCC under the care of Kingston Hospital and in line with national standards. The role is suitable for an experienced clinical nurse, ideally with relevant experience in Hepatology/Gastroenterology, who will be working as part of a Gastroenterology Team and directly with the Hepatology Consultants. It provides the opportunity to further develop communication, teaching, and clinical skills within the specialty. The post holder will be expected to develop nurse-led clinics, Fibroscan services, create a database for drug monitoring purposes, give advice, and implement patient care in an area that requires specific clinical knowledge, skills, and experience.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NMC Registered Nurse
* Educated to master's level or equivalent experience
Experience
* Relevant post-registration experience in an acute nursing setting
* Supervision of other healthcare professionals
* Experience of clinical teaching
* Clinical experience post-registration in gastroenterology specialty
