The main purpose of this role is to provide a full comprehensive technical support service to the Mackie’s production site over production shift pattern, supporting but not limited to Production and Engineering functions.
Responsibilities
This role will support a number of key areas across the business, namely:
Engineering:
1. Carry out PPM’s across all equipment ensuring schedule adherence and safety compliance.
2. Complete equipment repairs where necessary to a high technical standard.
3. Identify areas of improvement and be able to implement changes to PPM’s and/or schedules to contribute to equipment reliability and performance.
4. Create New PPM’s or work instructions where necessary.
5. Ensure all Equipment safety checks are completed in a timely manner (100% compliance).
6. Understand, use and interact with engineering systems.
7. Contribute to site and department auditory compliance.
8. Support any engineering apprentices.
9. Carry out any other tasks as required.
Production:
1. Support line start-ups.
2. Carry out equipment tests and adjustments to optimise product quality.
3. Contribute to site and department auditory compliance.
4. Carry out peer to peer training of operators and colleagues.
5. Carry out any other tasks as required.
Project/CI/H&S:
1. Support Project department in the implementation of new equipment projects.
2. Participate in training for new equipment and carry out peer-to-peer training of operators and colleagues.
3. Support H&S maintain standards and implement improvements (additional training provided where necessary).
4. Learn and apply basic CI techniques to Key result areas - Carry out any other tasks as required.
Qualifications
1. HNC or equivalent in electrical.
2. Previous experience in an FMCG environment preferably in Food or Drinks.
3. In depth operational experience in a similar role including shift work.
4. Full Clean UK drivers licence with own transport.
Knowledge
1. Strong knowledge of Electrical fault finding/repair/installation. In addition to a basic mechanical aptitude.
2. Good knowledge of maintenance techniques.
3. Strong understanding of PLC’s (interaction and repair not programming) and Industrial electrical systems.
4. Basic understanding of Pneumatic systems.
5. Good understanding of Food hygiene requirements and the importance of product quality and integrity in a FMCG environment.
6. Basic knowledge of MS Word/Excel.
7. Basic knowledge of CI techniques.
8. Basic knowledge of plant equipment would be advantageous (air compressors, pumps etc.).
Skills
1. Good skills regarding using hand tools and test equipment.
2. Good problem solving and analytical skills.
3. Good communication skills (verbal and written) & IT literate (in English).
4. Able to read and interpret technical documentation in the English language.

This role will be based on site at Mackie’s of Scotland, Westertown, Rothienorman, Inverurie.
This post's working hours will be 40 hrs/week. Various shift patterns and a reasonable amount of overtime may be required.
