Job Description
We're recruiting for a Head of Transfer Pricing to join us. This is a newly created position responsible for leading the provision of Transfer Pricing services to the Group. Managing the Transfer Pricing & International Tax Analyst and working closely with finance and wider business teams, the role is responsible for delivering Transfer Pricing strategy, advisory, operational implementation, compliance, and defence in all countries where Legal & General has a presence.
What you'll be doing:
* Designing, developing and implementing an appropriate, commercial transfer pricing structure that meets the needs of the Legal & General Group, with reference to latest legislative developments in UK transfer pricing.
* Developing and implementing transfer pricing policies for the Legal & General Group including governance framework, key processes, objectives and priorities.
* Monitoring business changes, identifying and implementing associated updates in transfer pricing policies and procedures including identifying opportunities for process improvement and impacts on broader tax areas (VAT and mobility). Working with lead business partners within Group Tax to highlight and resolve issues arising from transfer pricing matters.
* Monitoring changes in transfer pricing rules globally, identifying and implementing associated updates in global compliance with OECD and transfer pricing rules of major countries.
* Leading the response to transfer pricing audits and inquiries by tax authorities.
* Leading the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation for all jurisdictions in which the company operates. Initially, the focus of the role will be the delivery of a documentation solution for the UK businesses.
* Overseeing the relationship with external providers and internal stakeholders who contribute to transfer pricing objectives and their execution.
* Ensuring the proper preparation of Country-by-Country Reporting by internal stakeholders. Oversee the delivery of training and guidance to other departments on transfer pricing matters, with a focus on data, systems and processes required to implement transfer pricing policy.
* Developing and ensuring that appropriate risk management controls and procedures are in place. Identifying and evaluating key tax risks and ensure these are reported and managed.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
* Qualified Accountant, or with sufficient experience of financial accounting to maintain up-to-date professional knowledge.
* Strong technical knowledge of OECD transfer pricing rules and how these are applied in key markets.
* Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
* Proven commercial experience across transfer pricing compliance and advisory (whether obtained in practice or in-house).
* Experience working with financial services businesses strongly desirable (whether obtained in practice or in-house).
* Experience of negotiation with tax authorities desirable (whether obtained in practice or in-house).
* Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear, simple manner to a wide audience and to solve complex problems at short notice.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with staff, peers and other contacts within the business.
* Ability to practice effective delegation: clear explanations, establish capabilities, use as an opportunity to develop, monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
