We are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistants to join our Integrated Children and Young People's Therapies Service in Buckinghamshire.
As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you will be supporting the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based approaches to children and young people across Buckinghamshire with Speech, Language and Communication needs.
You'll be based in one of our locality teams in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, or Amersham, working within mainstream schools and/or early years settings, providing support and intervention to children who have an Education and Health Care Plan.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as a member of the Children's Therapy Team across a range of schools and early years settings with children with Speech Language and Communication needs (SLCN). The post holder will be responsible for:
* Under guidance of the Speech and Language Therapist, carrying out therapy packages with individual clients, evaluating session outcomes and discussing these with the therapist on a regular basis.
* Carrying out administrative duties as appropriate, which includes organising timetables, data collection; arranging patients' appointments and maintaining general resources with support from a speech and language therapist.
* Providing basic information on good practice regarding communication, to carers or others.
* Contributing to the design of training programmes, and to assist in the provision of training with support from a speech and language therapist.
Job responsibilities
* To independently carry out routine group and some individual therapy activities following aims set by the therapists, working with clients with a range of communication and other needs.
* To carry out specified observation and information gathering to contribute to the therapists' assessment.
* To report back to therapists at defined intervals to enable modification of level of intervention.
* To demonstrate input to other educators and parents/carers.
* To prepare and organise materials, information and accommodation for presentations by therapists.
* To carry out aspects of training according to pre-designed plan in conjunction with therapists.
* To maintain up-to-date and accurate case notes in line with professional standards and local Trust policies.
* To gather activity data accurately and regularly, ensuring the provision of such information promptly within local Trust guidelines.

Education, Qualifications and Training
* Significant and relevant work experience E.g. in a school or early years setting.
Experience
* Relevant practical work experience related to the clinical area.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Able to travel between a range of clinical locations - Car Driver.
