GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Special Education Needs TA to work across Wareham schools, offering vital support to students with varying learning needs. This is a wonderful opportunity to help create an inclusive and supportive environment that enables students to thrive.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to implement tailored interventions, ensuring students feel supported, engaged, and encouraged throughout their educational experience.
Special Education Needs (SEN) TA Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with special educational needs.
* Assist with adapting learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Promote positive behaviour and help students build self-confidence in the classroom.
* Offer support in both academic and personal development for students.
* Work with teachers to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Support students in social and emotional development, helping them build essential life skills.
* Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents.
* Contribute to creating an inclusive and safe learning environment.
Requirements for a Special Education Needs TA (SEN TA):
* Previous experience as a Special Education Needs TA or in a similar support role.
* A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
* Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential).
* Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach when working with children.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

* Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
