We are urgently recruiting for an Express & Same Day Van Planner based in Witham. The main purpose of the role:
Assist in the management of the Company’s fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, the Company’s Operator’s Licence and fleet suppliers, ensuring continuous roadworthiness and compliance to current legislation, obligations and undertakings, whilst providing a cost effective service to the Transport Budget.
·Have a clear understanding of the Company's policies, procedures and vision and how the Transport and Fleet Departments contributes and complies to these.
·Assist in the management of the Company’s Operators’ Licence ensure this remains compliant always and remains with an acceptable green OCRS score.
·Ensure that Drivers Hours and Working Directive Regulations are adhered to by all drivers and mobile workers and that accurate records are maintained in accordance with the Company’s legal obligations.
·Vehicle and drivers’ cards are correctly registered and downloaded in accordance with Company procedures, policy and legal requirements and that the records are safely maintained.
·Ensure the fleet ownership and maintenance are correctly maintained.
·DVSA file check sheets are always up to date and fully compliant.
·Ensure that all vehicles and trailers are properly inspected and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers and suppliers’ guidelines and the Company’s legal obligations and that the maintenance schedules are adhered to and kept up to date.
·Maintain the insurance records, fleet records and DVSA records of all changes to the fleet size, number of vehicles and trailers and their identification.
·FORS Fuel & Emissions Champion
·Ensure that all transport equipment is properly inspected and maintained in accordance with the manufacturers and suppliers’ guidelines and the Company’s legal obligations.
·Drivers’ vehicle, trailer and equipment safety checks are completed in accordance with the manufacturers and suppliers’ guidelines and the Company’s legal obligations.
·Safety, maintenance and inspection documents are correctly maintained in accordance with the Company’s legal obligations.
·Transport Risk Assessments and Safe Working Practices.
·Transport accident investigation and near miss reporting.
·Experience planning express or same-day van drivers.
·Vehicle weights and legal limits.
·Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations.
·Operators’ Licence obligations, undertakings and Regulations.
·Road Traffic Laws.
·Construction and Use Regulations.
·Vehicle costs.
·Microsoft Word and Excel at entry level.
