Salary: £53,176 - £55,789 per annum

We are excited to present an outstanding opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SALT), with experience equivalent to Band 7, to join our dedicated therapy team at our Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Greenwich.
Our state-of-the-art facility includes a 19-bed Level 1 Highly Specialist Cognitive-Behavioural ward and an 18-bed Level 2 Neurorehabilitation ward, both designed to offer specialised treatment for patients with physical and cognitive impairments due to acquired or traumatic brain injuries.
Role Overview
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team-comprising neurology, neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and social work professionals-you will play a pivotal role in complex clinical decision-making related to assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning.
In this role, you will manage your own caseload of patients across both wards. You will be instrumental in providing specialized support, particularly to patients with cognitive communication difficulties, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and improved communication outcomes.
Work Hours / Flexible Working

Key Responsibilities
Conduct specialist Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) assessments and treatments for patients with physical, cognitive, communication, and behavioural challenges caused by neurological injuries.
Develop evidence-based therapy programmes, emphasising multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Independently plan and lead communication therapy groups.
Maintain high standards of clinical care in accordance with national guidelines for excellence.
Act as Named Therapist to ensure cohesive goal-setting, therapy coordination, and discharge planning.
Provide formal supervision to less experienced SLTs and/or assistants as required.
Play an active role in the induction and training of other interdisciplinary team (IDT) members.
Uphold all relevant codes of practice and regulations.
Contribute to the implementation and review of SLT-related policies and service development initiatives.
Ensure the safety and protection of patients' human rights.
Requirements
HCPC registration
Experience in a neurorehabilitation setting.
Expertise in managing aphasia, cognitive communication disorders, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia.
Specialist dysphagia competency according to the RCSLT framework.
Experience in formal supervision and line management.
Enhanced DBS clearance required.
