Job Title: Production Process Engineer Location: Birmingham (Own transport is required to travel to additional sites) Salary: £37,000 £40,000 depending on experience Working Hours: Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00 or 07:00 to 15:00 Benefits: 23 days holiday & 8 public holidays, Death in Service, Company Pension Scheme and Medicash Health cash plan Overview: Our client are looking for a skilled Production Process Engineer to design, optimise, and troubleshoot production processes, ensuring that all operations meet quality standards, performance targets, and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities as a Production Process Engineer: Monitor key production parameters, analyse data, and troubleshoot process issues to minimise downtime and improve productivity. Develop, optimise, and maintain manufacturing processes to improve product quality, reduce waste, and increase production efficiency. Work closely with production teams, maintenance, and quality departments to identify areas for improvement and support implementation. Provide training to operators on new processes and best practices. Ensure that production processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO certifications. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies. Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction without compromising quality, through process optimisation, waste reduction, and equipment performance improvement. Essential Requirements as a Production Process Engineer: Proven experience (3 years) as a Production Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the steel or metal processing industries. Strong knowledge of process engineering techniques, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with process control systems, automation, and plant equipment in a production setting.
