About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is proud to offer a comprehensive Future Teachers Training Scheme, a unique opportunity designed to guide individuals from a Cover Supervisor role all the way to a fully qualified teacher during the training year. The scheme is ideal for those who are determined to pursue a teaching career but want to gain invaluable experience in real school environments before committing to a full teacher training program.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support teaching staff in maintaining effective learning environments by leading lessons and ensuring students remain engaged and on task in the absence of their usual teacher. You'll be the first point of contact for students during lessons and help foster a positive classroom atmosphere.
Throughout the training year, you'll receive ongoing support and professional development from experienced mentors and trainers. This includes access to Teaching Personnel’s teacher training placements, where you’ll gradually transition from cover supervision to full-time teaching responsibilities. By the end of the program, you’ll be well-prepared to embark on a successful career in teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes during the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged in their work.
Help with classroom management and behaviour support.
Follow pre-set lesson plans and assist in delivering curriculum material where required.
Support small groups or individual students with learning activities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with students and staff.
Take part in training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
What We’re Looking For:
A strong passion for teaching and education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage classroom dynamics effectively.
Previous experience in working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, or voluntary roles) is desirable but not essential.
A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to work.
A willingness to learn and adapt within a dynamic school environment.
Why Join Us?
Hands-on experience: Gain invaluable classroom experience while learning from seasoned professionals.
