Air Import Clerk (4 on 4 off 7am-7pm)
Main duties:
1. Execute the shipment at the agreed cost and report any deviation.
2. Communicate with origin office to set up shipment and monitor them.
3. Provide quote, if required.
4. Customs clearance (to be done following clearance instruction and ensure the direct rep. letter is held on file).
5. Bill VAT/DUTY if deferment a/c was used - Add all costs to the files.
6. Billing, on time and accurately.
7. PODs – ensure that all files have PODs before closing a file.
8. Cross training as required by the department.
Person specification (including technical/professional requirements):
1. Minimum 3 years’ UK experience within an air import department (Able to perform Customs CDS).
2. Ability to work alone and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative.
3. Ability to work under pressure.
4. Flexible - able to ask for help, be open, and seek collaboration and assistance if unsure how to handle a situation/problem.
