About the Role As a Facilities Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our centre is a safe, clean, and welcoming space for our customers. Your responsibilities will include maintaining high cleaning standards, supporting activity set-ups, covering reception breaks, and assisting with the daily operations of the centre. Key Responsibilities: Maintain a high standard of cleaning throughout the centre, following cleaning schedules and ensuring all tasks are completed to an excellent standard. Conduct regular health and safety checks, reporting any concerns or necessary repairs promptly. Use specialised cleaning equipment safely and in line with manufacturer guidelines, ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations. Proactively manage stock levels, ordering supplies as required. Provide a friendly and professional presence on reception, assisting customers and centre users as needed. Support the set-up and take-down of programmed activities and room hire bookings. Follow Peabody’s health and safety policies to maintain a safe environment for all. What We’re Looking For: A motivated individual who takes initiative and works well independently with minimal supervision. A commitment to excellent customer service, ensuring our centre users feel valued and welcomed. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. A flexible and conscientious approach to work, always striving to maintain high standards. Some knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. An understanding of the needs and aspirations of older adults (50) from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of COSHH and other relevant health and safety regulations. Experience in a similar role within a facilities or cleaning environment. Locations: Darwin Court SE17 or Sundial Centre E2 Contract: Permanent or Zero Hours (part time, relief cover) Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, between the hours of 0830AM to 8.30PM, 7 hours per shift). A requirement to work at least one Saturday in a three week period, with a day off in the week.
