We have an amazing opportunity for someone to work within the Asset Strategy Team in our Regulatory and Strategic Planning department as an Asset Risk and Strategy Analyst. You will be supporting NGN's investment decision-making and quantifying the value impact of NGN's strategic investment programme.
We are looking for a self-starter, who can pick up and develop new concepts quickly and work as part of an agile and supportive team. Previous experience in an analytical role would be an advantage; however, we will work with the right candidate to provide the training and support to ensure you are equipped with the skills to be successful in this role.
Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting the configuration and maintenance of NGN's Asset Investment Planning decision support tool through maintenance of the software code (C#), following quality assurance processes.
2. Leading the annual reporting of NGN performance against the Network Asset Risk Metric (NARM) and supporting the business in monitoring of NGN's performance against it.
3. Ensuring alignment of our asset level strategies to NGN's strategic business objectives and manage risk and service outputs over multiple time periods (5 - 25 years).
4. Optimising investment plans on 0-10 year timescales using NGN's Asset Investment Planning decision support tool and carrying out analysis/providing analytical support to the Asset Strategy, Investment Planning and RIIO-GD3 Business planning teams.
5. Working with multi-disciplined teams including statisticians, economists, and engineers and attending internal and external meetings as required.
What we are looking for:
1. You would be ideally degree educated in an analytical subject or have relevant industry experience.
2. You will possess strong critical thinking, analytical and numeracy skills.
3. Experience of using coding languages such as Python, R script, C#. The role involves the maintenance and improvement of NGN's Decision Support Tool code which will require the use of C#.
4. An aptitude to learn and develop new concepts and skills quickly.
5. Have the ability to effectively communicate challenging concepts with a range of stakeholders.
6. Ensure that you have full eligibility to work in the UK.

1. Salary ranging from GBP41,570 to GBP48,065 dependent upon your skills and experience.
2. Up to 10% bonus.
3. 40 hours a week on a permanent personal contract based at either our Thorpe Park, Leeds or Doxford Park, Sunderland with three days a week in the office.
