About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated, customer-centric and forward-thinking assistant manager to join the team and focus on supporting the Consumer Relationships Chief Operating Office to deliver their strategy, safely and at pace, embedding the resetting risk cultural transformation, significantly enhancing their control environment and achieving good outcomes for their customers.
This role will specifically support the Strategic Change and Data Director, in designing and optimising data-related controls.
What you'll be doing
* Monitor and test the effectiveness of designed controls to support the delivery of regulatory and operational risk objectives within stated risk appetite and provide consistently fair outcomes for customers.
* Support in achieving the business’ strategic goals, safely and faster through the identification of robust controls and mitigants.
* Support with implementing a Control by Design Attitude by working collaboratively with the business and platforms in identifying opportunities to simplify, optimise, and automate controls using innovative technology.
* Support the development and implementation of the control strategy to ensure there is a clear understanding of both the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment.
* Use data to generate/use insights in support of optimising control environment
* Support with the management of events and breaches and following Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and co-ordinate remediation plans to address High Priority Actions/Audit findings.
What we're looking for
* Business: An understanding of the role of a Data office and their responsibilities as a function, either through experience of working with or in a data office, or through wider practical experience.
* Risk and Control Management: An ability to think up and out about what could go wrong and how that can be prevented or mitigated (control), along with a good understanding of how to translate this into the Group requirements under the Risk Management Framework.
* Problem-Solving: Able to identify issues and develop effective solutions, willing to get stuck in to solve the problem.
* Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make the complex simple.
* Collaboration: Working effectively with other areas and stakeholders.
* Adaptability: Being flexible and open to change, especially in a challenging environment.
