Job Purpose
* This is a key role reporting to the Regulatory Operational Performance Manager within the Regulatory Services structure.
* It is a key technical role within a technical team, which supports Wastewater Services and Water Services.
* You will assist Wastewater Services and Water Services in its delivery of Environmental Regulatory Reporting together with our customer and efficiency targets.
* You will work as part of the Flow & Spill team within Regulatory Services and will be accountable for the performance and delivery of all outputs relating to Wastewater and Water process.
* You will work alongside other parts of the Regulatory Services Team, the Regional Services Team and wider Wastewater and Water Services teams.
* The role will also require you to liaise with external bodies such as the Environment Agency, OFWAT and other Water Companies.
* You will need to work closely and co-operatively with colleagues, customers and stakeholders and will need to build strong relationships with Production Managers and their teams.
* You will also need to balance the often conflicting demands between reactive situations and ad-hoc information requests.
* You will also need to develop your own knowledge and keep pace with changes in the regulatory framework and lead in promoting new approaches to deliver improvements in performance and be able to adapt and react quickly in order to avoid the escalation of regulatory issues.
Job Accountabilities
You will be responsible for the technical assessment of operational regulatory compliance, in relation to internal and external measures and completion of regulatory returns that are reliable, accurate and complete, and meeting regulatory requirements / timescales.
You will also be responsible for:
* Working together with and supporting other Technical Analysts to achieve internal and external regulatory deadlines.
* Supporting improvement initiatives and championing new ways of working.
* Delivery of actions relating to regional regulatory operational performance.
* Supporting the development of briefing packs on operational best practice and regulatory operational performance and, where appropriate, delivering these briefings to the operational field teams.
* Offering technical support and advice to Operational field teams as and when requested.
* Supporting the provision of supporting documentation for business planning, price review etc.
Knowledge and Skills
To be considered for this role you will need to have excellent leadership qualities with good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.

* Good operational understanding of environmental permits and the regulatory environment.
* Strong planner who can manage and prioritise their own workload and that of their teams.
* Clear communicator who understands how to work effectively with internal and external customers.
* A firm understanding of our corporate systems and their capabilities.
* A willingness to embrace changes.
* Excellent Customer Service skills dealing with both internal and external customers.
Desirable Criteria:
* Operational knowledge.
* An understanding of Water and Wastewater ODI's and Measures of success.
* Regulatory knowledge of flow and spill.
