Group Senior Health and Safety Advisor/Syncora Business Partner for the Calico Group. £42,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. What you’ll be doing In the role of Senior Health and Safety Advisor/ Business Partner for our Syncora companies, you will be invited to join a Health and Safety team (part of the Calico Group Business Services) dedicated to recognising the importance of Health and Safety across all Group business areas. Reporting into the Head of Health and Safety, the role will continue to develop the positive culture around Health and Safety that enhances behavioural awareness with the aim to minimise any accidents, incidents or near misses in all operations. The role is supported by an existing team who work with Operational teams and Managing Directors to ensure all activities undertaken are legally compliant through the policies and procedure in place. As part of the role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe place of work for yourself and all others, supporting and improving the investigation of accidents and incidents and providing health and safety leadership and support. What you’ll need to be a success Qualifications -(NEBOSH) General Certificate or (NEBOSH) Construction Certificate -(NEBOSH) Fire Certificate Experience -Experience as a Health and Safety practitioner -Experience of providing specialist advice and support to management and staff teams on Health and Safety issues. -Experience of Health and Safety policy and procedure development and implementation. -Experience of interpreting Health and Safety legislation and regulation and advising management teams on potential business implications. -Competent in the use of IT such as Word / Excel / Access and PowerPoint. -Experience working in CQC/NHS services. -Experience of developing a positive Health and Safety Culture across the Calico Group. Skills & Knowledge for This Role -Evidence of Continuous Professional Development -Ability to respond to, and liaise with, the Health and Safety Executive, CQC assessors, Auditors, and other inspectorate bodies. -Ability to work on own initiative and organise and prioritise own workload. -Ability to communicate at various levels, including the writing of reports and delivery of effective presentations, workshops on H&S topics, TBTs if required etc. -Ability to work collaboratively with and influence other managers and staff. -An understanding of current Health and Safety regulation and legislation relevant to the range of companies -Ability to carry out investigations, audits and inspections and produce reports on findings. -An understanding of a customer focused service and service standards. -Willingness to work outside normal office hours should the situation arise -Assertiveness, to ensure safety issues are addressed promptly and concisely. -The ability to work flexibly regarding your day-to-day activities Ready to apply?
