About the Role
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised administrator to join our friendly Museums team on a part time basis.
Maidstone Museum comprises of Maidstone Museum, The Royal West Kent Regimental Museum and The Carriage Museum. The Museums are at a particularly interesting and exciting phase of development, with a new Gallery opened in June 2024 and another planned Gallery opening later this year.
As Museums Administrator you will provide administrative and finance support to the Museums team, and excellent customer service as first point of contact for enquiries. Key responsibilities will include event bookings and promotion, invoice processing, ordering of goods, responding to customer queries/complaints, the collation and analysis of customer feedback data and regular budgetary reports. During peak times you will be required to support the visitor services team at front of house.
This is a part time role working 19 hours per week on a permanent contract.
About You
You will have previous experience in an administrative role with excellent communication and IT skills. You will be proactive and methodical, with a keen eye for detail and have experience of financial administration.
You will be committed to delivering good customer service and demonstrate a professional approach, maintaining diplomacy in sometimes challenging situations.
The Council considers this to be a customer focused role and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.
