Communications Strategist
We are looking for an individual or agency who can help us create a coherent communications strategy to contribute to our 5-year business plan from 2027 – 2031. We’re looking for people who understand how to connect with the general public and in particular those who might not think arts and culture is for them.
You will have:
1. Experience at a senior level of developing and implementing effective communication strategies for creative organisations.
2. An understanding of the cultural ecology in the UK in relation to communications.
3. An understanding of how to connect with people whose voices are seldom heard and do not regularly engage with arts and culture for whatever reason.
4. An up-to-date understanding of the complexities of communications in the arts and more generally in the UK at this point in time.
5. An entrepreneurial and flexible approach to communications.
6. An understanding of the financial context a small arts charity has to work within in terms of communications budgets and staff resource.
7. A hands-on approach to working in a team.
8. People who want to engage in the work we are doing and can be present in Crawley occasionally.
9. People who are willing to mentor the senior team (and others) at Creative Crawley as part of this process.
10. Someone who likes to have a laugh and is serious about connecting with the general public.
Fee: A fixed fee of £7500 (inclusive of VAT) is available for this contract. We expect this will cover a minimum of 18 days work.
Dates: April – August 2025.
All applications must be submitted to Creative Crawley by 12 noon on Wednesday 2 April 2025.
