Your new role
We are looking for a Junior Lawyer to join the team that advises on Automatic Enrolment. The successful candidate will provide advice and support on operational, policy, and litigation matters to the Regulatorypliance Directorate and other key stakeholders.They will also provide good quality, consistent, timely,mercial and pragmatic legal advice on legal issues and legal risks over a wide range of subjects, supportplex, large and high profile regulatory investigations and proceedings and represent and support the organisation both internally and externally.
1. Provide high quality, timely, consistent, and pragmatic legal advice to a range of different stakeholders.
2. Advise on AE litigation before the First Tier or Upper Tribunal, debt recovery in the County Court, and Criminal Prosecution, including, where appropriate, the instruction of Counsel.
3. Advise on (AE) operational and policy developments within the Regulatorypliance directorate.
4. Identify, advise on, and escalate decisions that create unmanaged legal risk.
5. Contribute to the internal legal knowledge management system and assist in supporting the learning and development of colleagues and clients, including sharing knowledge and actively participating in training.
What you'll need to succeed
6. A Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate in England and Wales, or a CILEX qualified lawyer.
7. Experience of Litigation is essential, and public law experience or regulatory advisory experience will be a bonus.
8. Experience of providing consistent, clear and audience tailored risk-based advice.
9. Ability to understand the needs and aims of an organisation.
10. Highly organised, creative, resilient and self-motivated and able to prioritise a challenging portfolio of work withpeting deadlines.
11. Proven ability to use initiative.
12. Sound grasp of public law issues.
13. Good advocacy, negotiation and persuasion skills.
14. Experience of at least some of the following – (i) providing pensions,mercial and/or regulatory law advice, (ii) devising and implementing a case strategy, and (iii) preparing cases for litigation
