TidalSense is a respiratory technology company with a mission to transform the diagnosis, monitoring and management of chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD. The company has ambitions to enable a population-scale change in respiratory care through global deployment of its technologies. TidalSense is about to launch the first-of-its-kind AI-driven (software medical device) diagnostic test for COPD which uses the company's unique, patented, sensor technology embedded in the N-Tidal device.
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong Tableau expertise to support our senior management team in shaping the strategy and priorities of the business. We are at an exciting phase in our journey as we transition from a start-up to a scale-up. You will be joining a passionate, socially-motivated and multi-disciplinary team covering engineers, scientists, clinicians, designers, product and usability specialists. This is a unique opportunity for a driven and autonomous individual to create data-led insight through analysis, modelling and synthesis of large and complex datasets to deliver impact in the real world and change people's lives. To integrate smart data-led decision making into our business operations, to bring accessible insight to colleagues without deep technical expertise.
Key duties & responsibilities
* Lead the adoption and integration of Tableau within the operational teams, working closely with the software team to manage the setup and ensure the tool is optimized for business needs.
* Perform complex data analysis and modelling using Excel and Tableau to create insights to guide critical business decisions
* Create supplementary data inputs from the internet, public sources and primary research where required
* Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau that meet the needs of internal (and external) stakeholders, with a focus on operational analysis and business OKRs
* Develop comprehensive reports and documentation that communicate findings and insights effectively in a way that is understandable to non-technical stakeholders
* Serve as the go-to expert for Tableau within the organization, providing training and support to team members to enhance their data analysis capabilities.
Requirements
Skills & Competencies
Essential:
* Advanced user of Tableau, including dashboard creation and data visualisation
* Advanced user of Excel including use of complex (eg nested and array) functions
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong ability to create actionable insights from complex data
* Well-developed understanding of the limitations of and confidence in data sources, assumptions and analytical methodology used
* Effective communication (presentation and writing skills), with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
* Resilience and flexibility to work in a busy and changing / dynamic environment with ability to deal with workload peaks and troughs
* Ability to organise and prioritise work in the context of achieving team goals
Desirable:
* Experience with databases and database queries in SQL.
* Experience with scripting in Python or R
* Experience applying statistical thinking and statistical testing to datasets
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM-related subject
* 2+ years experience as a data or business analyst, carrying out data cleaning, data mining, enrichment and modelling using large datasets
* Experience in working with company data, public data sources and desk research to create business insights
Desirable:
* Experience designing and managing primary research (eg surveys, observational studies, focus groups, meta-analyses)
Other Requirements
* Legally eligible to work in the UK without a visa or sponsorship
* Will need to be able to work in person in the Cambridge office at least 2 days / week.
