Job Description – Security Systems Engineer (Installation & Commissioning)

The Security Systems Engineer facilitates successful delivery through the installation, testing, inspection, and commissioning process while maintaining and improving standards. Key Accountabilities
1. Responsible for the delivery of installations (either direct or through management of contractors).
2. Project handover and documentation.
3. Callouts and completion of reports.
4. Maintenance and servicing.
5. Technical support and troubleshooting.
Skills and Abilities
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Highly organised and detail-oriented engineer.
3. Ability to work independently and coordinate activities at multiple sites.
4. Time-management and ability to meet deadlines.
5. Works well under pressure.
6. IT literacy, MS Office, and ideally proficient in the use of work management applications.
7. Demonstrable knowledge of IP technology.
8. Good understanding of networking (e.g. Cisco, TCP/IP, routing, switching).
9. Project QA and close-out report writing.
10. A can-do attitude with the ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently.
Requirements
1. Experienced at installing security systems with speed and accuracy.
2. The ability to review site plans and engineer notes and provide feedback and advice to colleagues, fit-out contractors, and clients.
3. Willing to meet the company ethos of offering independent professional advice to the client.
4. Minimum of 4 years' industry experience working within security installations and servicing.
5. Previously worked in a security systems engineer role.
6. Demonstrated ability commissioning or working with the following:
* Access Control (Preferably - Brivo, Openpath, S2, Lenel, C-cure, Inner Range).
* Intercoms (Preferably - 2N, Comelit).
* CCTV (Preferably – Axis, Hik Vision, Avigilion, Eagle Eye, Milestone).
* Intruder Alarm (Preferably - Galaxy, Texecom, Scantronic, Pyronix, Inner Range).
1. Customer-facing experience and able to complete multiple activities in the same day.
2. Experience in integrating multiple systems e.g. hardwire link access control and intruder alarm.
3. Familiar with installations to NSI standards.
4. Advanced understanding of IP networks and VLANs.
5. Full UK car driving license.
Important information:
1. You will be expected to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime (Project delivery and commissioning can fall on a weekend and out of hours work infrequently).
2. The ability to support the on-call rota and attend sites out of hours. (£125 allowance per week)
3. The equipment we provide is: Oyster card for travel within London or company vehicle (dependent on location).
