About us
Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is in Oxenhope, near Keighley. As well as expert palliative care, we support people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We work across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, and north Bradford. We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.
We are able to provide care in our inpatient unit and our CNS team are on hand to visit people and provide care for people in their own home.
About the Role
In palliative care no day is the same. Working on our inpatient unit provides a unique opportunity because we care for patients with such a variety of conditions and symptoms. If you’d like to develop your knowledge of many different conditions and the impact this has on patients and their families, a role in palliative care with Sue Ryder is for you.
Our nurses play an indispensable role in providing compassionate, holistic care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. Their work extends far beyond medical tasks, encompassing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support for both patients and their families.
Our registered nurses work on a rotational shift pattern, including early shifts, late shifts, long days, nights, and weekends. As this role supports a 24/7 service, we are seeking candidates with flexibility to work a range of shifts as required.
The successful applicants will play an active role within our multidisciplinary team. You will work alongside Specialty Doctors, therapy staff, volunteers and other vital members of the MDT taking a holistic approach in providing the best possible outcomes for each patient.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Providing support, leadership, recognition and supervision to junior members of staff
2. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised clinical care for service users
3. Using evidence-based practice to develop and maintain high-quality care
4. Ensuring that the team provide all care in line with the care plan
5. Helping to organise the admission and discharge of service users
About you:

4. Evidence of continued professional development and willingness to learn.
5. If you are new to the NMC register, please speak with our recruitment team about preceptorship opportunities.
We will provide a thorough induction with supernumerary time to settle into the role and full training/competency assessment will be provided.
