Description
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Consultant. You'll be responsible for the development of advisory projects for major electricity sector agents, including distribution, transmission, retailers, and generators, helping them deal with regulatory, economic, and electricity challenges. You will assist in building and retaining long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers to support profitable growth and ongoing satisfaction.
This role will be based out of our new Birmingham City Centre office and will be hybrid.

Responsibilities:
1. Identifying opportunities for new and repeating consulting business, building an internal and external network for the exchange of information.
2. Creating added value for customers and the organization, ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts, and proposals, using a series of sales techniques and negotiating tactics for leading sales activities.
3. Proposing research & development projects, including the scope of the budget, supporting the project management strategy, including productization, modularization, and following up on new products/solutions, including ongoing support with contract management activities.
4. Conducting risk assessments and identifying opportunities for various assignments, ensuring delivery as per the agreed contract.
5. Leading the creation of new processes and tool enhancements following the study of advanced techniques, with a focus on coaching and developing subordinate colleagues.
6. Working on consulting assignments using established standards, methods, and technologies to develop solutions and resolve issues. Generating consulting deliverables (e.g., reports) and assisting consultants in assignments.
7. Clarifying customer inquiries on technical issues, analyzing and working on customer feedback, and supporting colleagues in creating proposals as well as sales material.
Background:
1. Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical power systems, or similar is required.
2. Advanced degrees preferred (Masters, PhD, MBA).
3. Experience and knowledge of the electric power industry, market, systems, and equipment.
4. Confidence in identifying opportunities for new and repeating consulting business.
5. Written and oral fluency in English.
