Job Summary: Leigh Academy Rainham is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teacher of Textiles to join our thriving Design and Technology department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual to inspire students and help them explore their creative potential in the world of textiles.
We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who can engage students in both the practical and theoretical aspects of Textiles, helping them develop both their technical skills and their creative thinking. Key Responsibilities:
* Planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons in Textiles at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential for teaching Key Stage 5.
* Encouraging students to develop their creative skills through both practical projects and theoretical knowledge.
* Managing classroom resources and ensuring students have access to high-quality equipment and materials.
* Regularly assessing and tracking student progress, offering support and interventions as necessary.
* Contributing to the development of the curriculum and ensuring that the department continues to evolve with emerging trends in Textiles and Design.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering MPS/UPS commensurate with experience.

In September 2021, we opened our doors to the 180 founding students of our co-educational comprehensive school for 11-18 year olds. Already oversubscribed, our new school is firmly set to be a beacon of excellence for secondary education in Medway.
