We are looking for a Ward Manager to work on Buckley Ward (Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) at Woodview, Whalley.
Woodview opened in December 2023. Woodview Unit is a newly refurbished building on the Whalley site which has a total of 32 beds including 12 Male, 12 Female and an 8 bedded Male PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit). These additional beds will complement those on the Pendleview Unit, Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Main duties of the job
The inpatient units are designed to meet the holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a working environment conducive to staff development and wellbeing. The post holder supports the delivery of the inpatient hospital model providing leadership to professional and direct care staff, ensuring the availability of appropriate administrative support services in their wards to release clinical time to care.
The post holder will provide a visible, accessible and authoritative presence on wards, to whom patients and their families can turn for assistance, advice and support.
The post holder supports the delivery of the Inpatient Hospital model through:
1. Actively promoting teamwork, respect, integrity, accountability, excellence and compassion within the ward team in accordance with the Trust values and NMC code of conduct.
2. Overseeing and ensuring that nurse leadership within the multidisciplinary team provides effective assessment, formulation, planning and monitoring of care given to inpatient service users.
