Job Description - Pilot Support Manager - BFS (15725)
Description
We like to think of ourselves as being a different place to work compared to other airlines. We’re fun, community-driven, less informal, and from top to bottom we really look after each other. We also think it’s because of our ‘Orange Spirit’. That means working in teams that are positive, inclusive, united by purpose, ready to meet problems head-on, and that have your back. Whether you’re an industry veteran or just starting out, if you thrive in a team environment then we think we have one of the best around.
We are looking for a Pilot Support Manager with a strong HR background to support our Pilots in Belfast. This role requires an individual who excels in people management and has a proven track record of developing positive, high-performance cultures. You will play a key role in supporting pilots at multiple bases, working closely with the Base Captain to ensure the team remains engaged, motivated, and aligned with our operational goals. Your leadership should be visible, proactive, and rooted in inclusive behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overseeing pilot performance in areas such as conduct, absence, return to work, disciplinary processes, and grievance management.
2. Working with the Base Captain to implement the Flight Operations engagement plan.
3. Recognising exceptional contributions from pilots and promoting recognition across the entire base community.
4. Engaging with local industrial bodies and works councils.
5. Ensuring innovative and effective communication to pilots.
6. Supporting the safety and well-being of our pilots by contributing to Health and Safety standards.
7. Collaborating with the Safety and FRMS team to manage fatigue levels.
8. Managing relationships with third-party suppliers effectively.

A strong HR background in regulated environments is essential, with experience in people management and performance in fast-paced settings. You should excel in prioritisation, demonstrate resilience, and drive employee engagement.
Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Outlook and Excel, is essential. You must have experience delivering performance through KPIs, especially in employee engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to manage face-to-face interactions confidently, are key to success. Experience with HR policies and unionised environments, including interactions with union members, is required. If you're passionate about performance and supporting our pilots, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Get in Return
1. Up to 20% bonus
2. 25 days holiday
3. BAYE, SAYE & Performance share schemes
4. Life Assurance
5. Flexible benefits package
6. Excellent staff travel benefits
