Do you want to join a team who are passionate about the care they offer to patients, who work together to deliver first-class health services in beautiful South Devon? Our team recognises the many challenges facing Primary Care in today's world but is determined to find joy in our day-to-day work through innovation, collaboration, and by working together as a committed team. Due to an exciting new framework within General Practice Urgent Care, Torquay Primary Care Network is keen to hear from doctors looking for a salaried position. We are looking for a newly qualified GP (less than 2 years post qualification).
We have a growing list of more than 50,603 patients across our four surgeries (Brunel Medical Practice, Chelston Hall Surgery, Croft Hall Medical Practice, and Southover Medical Practice) and are situated on the stunning South Devon coast, in the catchment area of three Grammar schools. This role would be based within Brunel Medical Practice and would be a supportive role, ideal for a newly qualified GP. We work hard to ensure that the day-to-day work of our clinicians is achievable, allowing the job to be enjoyable and ensure resilience in the team. Our bespoke appointment system has been adapted to manage increased patient demand and allows all clinicians to manage their own workload and clinical day.
We want to make your day manageable and successful, and we want to get you home to your families on time at the end of the day. This role would be based within Brunel Medical Practice and would be a supportive role, ideal for a newly qualified GP. The role will work in our newly commissioned Urgent same-day care hub pilot, which is designed to test the impact of a dedicated same-day, urgent treatment offering for patients across the PCN.
You will be part of a smaller team within our PCN, working with 2 AHPs to manage a set number of patients each day that are referred by practices should they meet strict criteria. We offer:
1. Friendly and supportive team
2. No Duty Doctor, so no one is ever asked to manage an uncapped workload
3. Protected workload seeing uncomplex patients presenting with one ailment via PCN Hub
4. 25 contacts per day, pre-booked face-to-face appointment sessions
5. Tier 2 Visa Sponsor
6. Dedicated Care Home and frailty team
7. Practice workflow managed by the admin team
8. Digital Triage
9. Commercial Research - Brunel Medical Practice is a member of CCRG, a commercial research group
10. EMIS Web Practice - Brunel's Practice Manager is Chair of the EMIS National User Group
11. Extended staff roles support the practice from the PCN
12. 6 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave per year, pro rata
13. A dedicated GP mentor, with protected time for personal development and mentoring
14. Indemnity - the extra costs on top of Crown is fully covered
15. Practice funded social events, including Bru-Fest, our summer fun day where staff, their families, and friends come together for pig racing, barn dancing, and bouncy castles
16. £11,000 per session
We would love to meet interested applicants and introduce you to the extended team so you can ask further questions about what day-to-day life is really like. We would also be happy to arrange locum shifts or a paid shadowing session so you can take us on a test drive.
