IT Solution Architect

Role Overview:
We are seeking several IT Solution Architects to join the team in Bristol.
As an IT Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering complex end-to-end solutions using a variety of applications and technologies within the supply chain management domain.
This role will ensure that the solution architecture meets the key project functional and non-functional requirements identified for the LCST programme. You will lead the solution development through all phases of the delivery lifecycle, from requirements capture, high-level design, low-level design, development, to release and sustainment phases.
You will support the Head of Architect on various design decisions including:
1. Solution evaluation: buy vs. build vs. reuse
2. Platform selection
3. Early-phase project estimates
4. Ensuring compliance with all design principles and architecture frameworks
5. Ensuring compliance with technical, security, customer, and regulatory standards
6. Supporting customer and stakeholder meetings and technical discussions
Skills Required:
* Experience as a Solution Architect on large, complex customer projects
* Production of cross-domain (Business, Application Data, Infrastructure, Security) architecture deliverables such as proposal designs, high-level designs, and interface specifications
* Experience with bespoke and COTS applications
* Knowledge of integration concepts and technologies e.g., SOA, ESBs, EAI, XML, Web Services, MQ
* Experience with large-scale, distributed, event-driven architectures
* Cloud experience with AWS or similar
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-supplier/vendor environment
* Strong consulting, leadership, and mentoring skills, with effective communication abilities
* Broad knowledge of application technologies, platforms, tools, security, and infrastructure
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
* Strong analytical and technical skills
* Bachelor’s Degree or extensive relevant experience
Skills Desired:
* Experience in logistics/supply chain solutions using modern commercial solutions such as:
o Integration Platforms
o Manufacturing/Repairs systems
o Warehouse Management Systems
o Transport Management Systems
o Order and Inventory Management Systems
o Enterprise Resource Planning Systems
o Procurement Systems
o Data, Analytics, and MI systems
1. Experience with TOGAF/MODAF (desirable)
2. Experience with Archimate
3. Experience in a CMMI level 3 environment
Clearance Requirements:
* BPSS pre-screening required to start
* SC clearance required for the role
