Senior Planner - UK Civil Engineering
Our client is seeking a Senior Planner to join their ‘UK Build Division – Civils’ in London and surrounding areas. Your role will be to support the management team in planning and programming design, procurement, and construction activities. Lead program and planning management during preconstruction and construction phases.
Develop regular progress and performance reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead program development & control, including baseline contract program creation, logic linking, and critical path identification.
2. Prepare construction and tender event programs, utilizing common data environment (CDE).
3. Develop 4D graphical models or 2D phasing plans to represent build sequences and logistics.
4. Engage with the supply chain to develop project programs, review risks and opportunities, and suggest mitigation measures.
5. Maintain tracking schedules, as-built programs, and change requests.
6. Use 4D models or 2D phasing information to assess current progress and validate output rates.
7. Report program status to the Regional Planner weekly/monthly.
8. Conduct PDPs with assistant planners and drive their development.
9. Lead planning and program management duties in preconstruction and on-site.
10. Assess program and entitlements under the contract.
11. Ensure quality of planning and program documents.
12. Provide program updates at contract review meetings.
Experience & Skills:
1. Proven track record in live construction project management.
2. Extensive knowledge of UK and EU legal framework, particularly in contract management.
3. Experience in managing planning teams.
Qualifications / Training:
1. Relevant degree or diploma in construction management.
2. Certification in planning and program software.
3. Membership in relevant professional body.
4. Advanced Asta Powerproject Training.
5. Advanced Primavera P6 Training.
6. Managing People Training.
7. Advanced contract awareness, including JCT and NEC forms.
