Job Title: Senior Town Planner

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Town Planner to join our client's dynamic team based in Liverpool. As a Senior Planner, you will lead urban development projects, create strategic plans, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of planning initiatives. You’ll be working across a variety of sectors, making a significant impact on shaping cities and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategic planning policies for urban development projects, ensuring they are forward-thinking and sustainable.
* Manage and oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects of the planning process run smoothly.
* Engage and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and developers, ensuring their views and concerns are effectively addressed.
* Review, update, and contribute to the development of planning policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with the latest guidelines.
* Conduct comprehensive analyses of demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform planning decisions.
* Ensure all urban development projects adhere to environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
* Organise and lead public consultations and hearings, ensuring effective community engagement and transparent decision-making.
* Mentor and lead junior planning staff, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, or a related field.
* Chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
* Strong knowledge of planning laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
* Proven leadership ability and experience in managing planning projects and teams.
