The post holder would Lead on the coordination and participation of local simulation training events in collaboration with local staff and other external agencies and help coordinate the development of a local multidisciplinary faculty.
To act as a lead for the implementation and integration of the Simulation Strategy into the Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH).
Provide strategic support to the development of both the local and regional simulation and clinical skills network.
Create a local training strategy aligned to the HENW simulation strategy, which is clinically relevant and credible, innovative, sustainable, and responsive to change.
To promote and embed the culture of simulation within both single discipline and multidisciplinary teams, and respond to training needs of the trust where simulation has been identified to improve patient safety.
Open to all registered health professionals
• To be a specialist in healthcare simulation, advising health care professionals on the delivery of simulation-based education and support in-house simulation.
• To develop simulation teaching packages which reflect current evidence and policy-based practices, in collaboration with clinical specialists and other education leads in the Trust, Postgraduate and Undergraduate Medical Education teams, and local HEIs.
• To conduct regular training needs analysis to identify key learning needs and develop both single discipline and multidisciplinary simulation programmes, that are responsive to changes in the national policy.
· To oversee the implementation of a quality assurance process (peer review), to ensure that staff attending training gain an appropriate level of competence in line with their learning needs.
· To maintain Continuous Professional Development attending relevant study days and conferences relevant to the practice of simulation training.
· Support divisional and new educatorswith the development of training packages which may include simulation.
• Ensure all training is delivered in accordance with Trust policy and procedure.
· Support the Lead for Medical Education to implement new changes in accordance with curriculum and training changes.
· Manage the collection and analysis of information relating to general performance, contract activity and quality, taking corrective actions and implementing change where appropriate.
