We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to expand our presence within the NHS and healthcare sector. This role will focus on building and maintaining relationships with key NHS stakeholders, generating new business opportunities, and securing contracts with ICBs and NHS Trusts. The ideal candidate will have a strong existing network within the NHS, an understanding of NHS procurement pathways, and experience in healthcare business development. Ideal locations include South England, North England, or the Midlands, with the flexibility to work in a remote or hybrid model from our head office locations in Birmingham or London.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain a network of senior NHS colleagues within ICBs and NHS Trusts.
* Identify and develop new business leads through relationships with NHS stakeholders.
* Support accreditation efforts (e.g., PSR accreditation with ICBs) to drive service adoption.
* Manage contracts and relationships with NHS Trusts and ICBs, ensuring strong partnerships and ongoing engagement.
* Source and manage bids for NHS tenders, coordinating with internal teams and subject matter experts.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify opportunities for new services and business growth.
* Represent the company at NHS and healthcare events, presenting and networking with key decision-makers.
Essential Criteria
* Experience in NHS or healthcare business development, with a proven track record of securing contracts and growing services.
* Existing senior NHS network (ICBs and/or Trusts) with strong relationship-building skills.
* Understanding of NHS procurement pathways, including patient choice and commissioning structures.
* Ability to translate NHS relationships into tangible business opportunities.
* Experience working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to develop new business.
* Strong strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging senior NHS colleagues.
* Willingness to travel regularly to meet with NHS partners and attend industry events.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience in bid writing and tender submissions.
