Finance Analyst
Location - Cardiff City Centre (in office)

Salary - Up to £30,000, but negotiable for more experienced candidates
Talent Tent is proud to be working with Finalrentals, one of Wales’ most exciting startups to find a Finance Analyst.
Finalrentals is a market-leading tech company that was launched with only one aim - to get people the best prices for car rentals online by empowering local car rental companies to become digital.
The team has franchisees and affiliates around the world, and in 2025 the brand has expanded to over 45 countries and counting.
Finalrentals has received backing to take the business to the next level of growth, and adding a Finance Analyst to their team will be vital to the success of the business.
The Role
This role will focus on finance - whether it is the data that guides decision-making or the day-to-day bookkeeping and invoicing, this role will make a significant impact on the company and support the CEO to drive the company to greater things.
What to expect from your role?
Firstly, you will need to learn about Finalrentals, their history, where they are going, and how everything works - this will help you spot where you can make the greatest impact with the data you produce.
These tasks are largely done by the CEO at this time, so you will work closely with him at first to learn the ropes. Then your role will be split into two major areas of responsibility:
75% of your time will be spent on data:
* Financial reporting and interpretation
* Producing requested data
* Being proactive with monitoring and highlighting issues and opportunities
* Presenting your findings
25% of your time will be spent on finance admin:
* Bookkeeping
* Credit control
* Invoicing and payments
* Carrying out anti-money laundering and 'know your customer' checks
The skills and experience you’ll need
Our dream candidate will be extremely interested in working in a startup environment, so will be agile, quick to learn, and keen to grow with the company. You will have to be innovative, results-focused, and have a growth mindset.
Whilst this isn’t a tech role, you must be confident in learning new technologies and systems and embrace the benefits of AI. You will be using Xero accounting software daily.
Previous experience in a similar data role would be great, as well as experience in bookkeeping.
You don’t have to be an accountant, but a good head for figures and how to present them is definitely needed.
We would also be keen to hear from graduates with linked degrees such as finance, accounting, business, or data who think they could bring their skills to this role.
But don’t worry if that doesn’t sound 100% like you – we still want to hear from you, as we know people with great transferable skills and a good attitude also succeed in the startup world.
This is a growing tech company, so it will be fast-paced and there will sometimes be long hours to get things done; however, the founder wants to bring you on the growth journey with the company and will ensure you are rewarded for your hard work and dedication.
