We have an exciting opportunity to join the Asset Directorate as the Head of Asset Intelligence reporting directly into our Chief Asset Officer. This is a new function providing critical insights to optimise the lifespan of our assets, using a fully digitised asset base, calibrated network models, predictive failure, and system scenario planning to drive continuous improvement and asset management maturity. A visionary leader is needed to develop and implement strategies aligned with the Directorate’s mission, fostering innovation and driving emerging trends. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, to deliver key initiatives, driving a culture of excellence, innovation, and ensuring continuous improvement in complex and uncertain economic conditions. Specific tasks will be defined based on changing business needs. This role will ensure asset health and resilience by focusing on high-quality asset information and analytics to support decisions on operating, maintaining, and replacing assets. Your work will inform service risk levels and future planning, ensuring robust and resilient asset management interventions that support long-term operational success. Key Responsibilities Provide data, information, and analytics that balances cost, risk, and performance to optimise the lifespan of assets, looking at both current and future needs Lead the digital transformation of the organisation's asset infrastructure, improving connectivity and visibility of asset management data through systems, tools, and technology Custodian of asset data, ensuring data is robust, accurate, and trusted across the organisation Deliver asset deterioration modelling to inform investment plans and forecast future asset issues Ensure asset management and delivery decisions are based on expert understanding of the asset portfolio and interdependencies to optimise return on investment Champion the integration of asset management into daily operations by collaborating with department leads to gather critical data for asset management Lead the delivery of asset management capability improvements, aligning with ISO 55000/55001 standards and best practices Assess strategic risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place to address disruptions Develop and implement systems and governance to ensure accurate asset data, progressing towards enhanced digital asset descriptions and digital twins Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion, aligning with Company values in the workplace Ensure compliance with legislative, health, safety, and quality standards, including ISO certifications and GDPR regulations Skills, Competencies & Qualifications An engineering or relevant degree, along with chartered membership of a relevant professional institution such as the IAM Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution or equivalent experience Advanced level experience in developing and implementing asset management policy, standards, and specifications within a regulated sector Proven experience of working in asset management leadership roles, managing multidiscipline, highly technical teams in a complex environment Expert understanding of whole life asset management principles and systems, including ISO 55000/55001 standards Extensive knowledge of asset management systems and the latest developments in digital engineering technology Experience presenting complex and technical asset management information to all levels of an organisation for stakeholder buy-in Proven experience in risks, benefits, and value management, ensuring timely decision-making and delivery Ability to apply a commercial approach and understanding aligned with meeting business plans Proven experience in budget formulation, cost control, and financial reporting Extensive knowledge of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) standards and principles. A competitive salary of £75,000 - £95,000 is on offer a wide range of benefits.
