An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist to work at Queens Resource Centre for the Croydon Directorate South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Working closely with the Facilities Coordinator.
The successful applicant will have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and will also be able to deal with enquiries professionally. You will communicate with patients, carers and visitors as well as SLAM staff and health professionals. The post holder will be comfortable with IT and be keen to learn new software packages and processes.
This is a challenging role, working on the reception desk and dealing with sensitive calls, meeting Service Users, Carers and SLaM staff on a daily basis. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to use your initiative when necessary.

To provide a front line fully comprehensive, professional and courteous reception service for the occupants of the Site/building which may include Clinical Services, In-house patient facilities, busy community health services, Corporate Services, HR, and Finance etc.
As part of the building’s support team, the receptionist provides general reception services and deals sensitively with telephone enquiries from clients, carers and health professionals as well as some administrative support, including inputting information onto in-house software systems.
Communications and Working Relationships:
You will communicate with patients, carers and visitors as well as SLAM staff and health professionals. You will liaise with contractor representatives, other estates professionals and clinical representatives, estates officers and team leaders, porters and security staff.
The post holder will work Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00, exact hours according to local requirements.
This role is primarily aimed at providing a service at Queens Resource centre
The post holder may be required to travel and work at other sites if necessary.

Receive and greet service users and visitors in an efficient, calm, tactful and courteous manner, reassuring patients who can be distressed and confused, and seeking assistance as appropriate. As the first person visitors to the building encounter it is important you make them feel welcome.
To immediately inform the relevant members of staff of their visitor/patient’s arrival, keeping patients and visitors informed of any delays.
To deal professionally with queries from visitors and telephone callers, providing a rapid response and dealing with enquiries efficiently, forwarding calls as appropriate. Understand the importance of tone, pace and volume when communicating with patients, visitors and staff.
