We have an exciting opportunity for an Release & Transfer Administrator to join the team at HMP Isle of Wight, a category B male prison just outside of Newport.
This role is offered on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. This is a fantastic new opportunity to join the Recovery team (Substance Misuse) - you can really make this role your own! Transfer & Discharge is a key part of the prisoner journey - ensuring that everything is place for prisoner release back into the community, or transfer to an alternative prison. HMP Isle of Wight is a large male prison, with a population of around 1700, and is the combination of the two former island prisons, HMP Albany and HMP Parkhurst Hours: This is a full time role, working hours per week. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00. Salary: This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £24,924 - £27,582 depending on experience. How will we support you?

Main duties of the job
As our new Release & Transfer Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
1. Work as part of the Recovery / Substance Misuse team, ensuring that appropriate referrals are made for patient transfer and release back into the community
2. Work closely with the Recovery Workers on site, and community providers, such as Probation, and Drug & Alcohol Services
3. Ensure that referrals are made and all healthcare information is correct ahead of a prisoner transfer to another site - including keeping patient records and systems up to date
4. Dealing with patients, healthcare colleagues and other professionals over the phone, face to face and via email, delivering a high level service at all times

16. Previous experience within an administrative role / setting
17. Although not essential, any experience in healthcare, or substance misuse would be an advantage
