This fixed term role for a Genomic Practitioner is part of a focused project supporting the development of the National Inherited Cancer Predisposition Register (NICPR), within the Peninsula Clinical Genetics Service.

Job responsibilities
The Genomic Practitioner will work alongside the current Genomic Practitioner and Genetic Counselling team to support the delivery of a high-quality clinical genetics service. Responsibilities include:
1. Gathering information from patients and genetic records.
2. Reviewing and collating retrospective data for individuals with confirmed pathogenic and likely pathogenic variants.
3. Liaising with other departments and NHS trusts to obtain relevant information.
4. Assisting the Cancer Genetics team in supporting pre and post clinic care and multi-disciplinary meetings.
5. Recruiting to research.
This role requires excellent interpersonal abilities, experience in a clinical setting, and strong organisational skills. The ideal candidate will have an interest in and some prior knowledge of clinical genomics.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 9 to 5pm

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees, this post could be a secondment opportunity.
