We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, driven, and dynamic individual to join the Proactive Care Team as a Therapy Assistant Practitioner. The service is a partnership model between BDCFT and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post offers the opportunity to work as part of a large and supportive multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and other therapy assistants, providing highly effective therapy treatment for patients in their own homes.
The successful applicant will have experience working with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy and have an interest in the provision of therapy in a community setting.
Individuals will be committed to personal development and engage in training programmes. They will be supported by the MDT to develop their existing clinical skills through comprehensive shadowing, competency assessment, and training programmes. Regular supervision will be provided to support and develop clinical reasoning to become independent practitioners responsible for their own caseload.
To deliver a high standard of health care supporting both Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, together with the wider MDT, to assess, plan, and implement a range of therapeutic interventions to improve the physical, cognitive, and functional ability, mood, and well-being of patients.
Responsibilities include:
1. Undertaking assessments and treatments for both physiotherapy and occupational therapy independently.
2. Facilitating safe and timely interventions.
3. Managing and prioritising own caseload delegated by qualified therapists/MDT, evaluating and adapting interventions.
4. Contributing to team and service development.
5. Providing training and support to other team members and students.
