We are currently looking for a Proposals/Technical Engineer, to join an established niche manufacturing business, based in Cramlington.
The Proposal/Technical Engineer is required to join the business on a permanent basis, they will receive a salary of around £35,000, with the potential to earn company performance based bonus. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing detailed proposals for key projects, ensuring that solutions meet client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities of the Proposal/Technical Engineer:
Receive and manage inbound customer calls and inquiries
Analyse customer needs and recommend suitable solutions through discussions, project analysis, and assessment of project specifications and site drawings.
Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Prepare detailed technical proposals and quotations using Microsoft Office, Sage 200, and Salesforce.
Create technical arrangement drawings using SolidWorks.
Develop a deep understanding of our clients' requirements, their specifications, features, and applications.
Produce product information for customers, highlighting technical aspects, benefits, and applications.
Experience and Skills of the Proposal/Technical Engineer:
Strong technical acumen and the ability to understand engineering concepts related to safety-critical systems.
Technical or engineering qualifications preferred but not essential.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications and drawings, pricing books, product catalogues, regulations, and industry standards.
Knowledge of technical drawing software, with SolidWorks preferred (training can be provided).
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and industry events.
