The Opportunity:
As a Head of Health Economics CoE, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of health economic strategies and tactics to support patient access optimization including the development of global cost-effectiveness and budget impact models, early economic models & model adaptations for local affiliate submissions in addition to a range of related health economics projects that support payer / HTA value demonstration.
You will provide technical health economics expertise and leadership within Astellas by identifying solutions and defining projects to inform and optimise pricing, reimbursement and market access and ensuring brand team at the global and affiliate level have the appropriate value communication tools and content available to them at the optimal time.
You will also manage the operational aspects of the team, including budget, performance, and compliance. You will provide coaching and feedback and have meaningful career development conversations with team members. Additionally, you will ensure internal alignment with cross functional partners to optimise delivery of tools and material in support of affiliate pricing, reimbursement and access.

Key Responsibilities:
* Establish the Health Economics Centre of Excellence (CoE) as an expert group which distinguishes itself through the rapid delivery of quality economic models and broader value communication tools as core elements of Astellas’ HTA strategy that are enthusiastically and effectively utilised by affiliates to achieve best in class price, reimbursement and access.
* Ensure that the right mix of talent, capabilities and AI enablement within the Health Economics Centre of Excellence empowers the team to execute select deliverables internally from early in the asset lifecycle with close partnership across early asset and strategic brand leads as well as key affiliates.
* In collaboration with cross-functional partners identify and consolidate key payer/HTA value needs and ensure incorporated into the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) and relevant functional plans.
* Support preparation of external payer advisory meetings to solicit feedback on Astellas products and therapeutic areas specific disease impacts & priorities.
* Lead the team in the co-development of core HTA submission models with key Cost-Effectiveness affiliates and ensure model localisation is implemented.
* Liaise with external medical and health economic KEEs to ensure optimized model structures and key data input for reimbursement applications and contribute to the advancement of new methodologies.
* Extensive experience of building cost-effectiveness economic models and budget impact models.
* Sound understanding of pricing, reimbursement, and government agency requirements, as well as the competitive economic dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry in key markets.
* Experience in developing and interpreting economic models and understanding systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
* Solid knowledge of clinical trial data and design, and experience in analysing and interpreting clinical trial data is required.
* Excellent leadership and cohesion, with a vision of team success, and able to make plans to motivate others to work hard to achieve the vision.
* Team leadership experience in a matrix structure.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Broad technical expertise and project leadership capabilities with a proven track record of effectively managing and influencing staff and stakeholders, a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver results and capability to solve complex issues involving multiple stakeholders.
* Experience in working effectively across diverse cultures with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and convey technical information, including complex policy and reimbursement information in business relevant language to diverse audiences.
Education:
* Post graduate qualification in Health Economics, or equivalent.

* This is a permanent, full-time position.
* This position is based in the United Kingdom.
* This position has a moderate amount of international travel.
* This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and minimum 1 day per quarter in our Addlestone, United Kingdom office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
