Polypipe Building Services houses well-known industry brand Terrain and has been delivering systems to commercial, high rise residential, healthcare, education and leisure projects for over 50 years. This role is to lead the Engineering Team activities to maintain and improve the reliability of the process. The working hours for this position are Monday - Thursday 8:00am until 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am until 2:00pm. Key Responsibilities: Utilisation of the engineering team to carry out planned, scheduled and unplanned maintenance. Support/advise the Engineering Co-ordinator in the final planning of the Engineering Work Schedule. Plan engineering work prior to scheduling. Technically specify parts and equipment required. A gree Maintenance plan with Production Planning. F ollow the agreed schedule to complete planned engineering work. Attend daily production meetings. Day to day resource management – holidays/sickness/timekeeping Review and ensure company CMMS asset data is maintained. Seek out opportunities to improve efficiencies in engineering. Support and develop the engineering skills and knowledge within the team. Lead the engineering team with 6S / C.I. initiatives. Skills & Requirements: Experienced mechanical/electrical engineer working in an operational/ manufacturing/technical environment NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and BTEC Higher qualified with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. Ability to work with and lead a team. Able to identify areas of improvement within a team and to coach/ mentor to achieve required results. Demonstrate discretion and ensure confidentiality of system information. Ability to understand engineering based KPI’s. Computer literate – CMMS, MS Office. Good communication skills. Time management skills – ability to plan and execute work within agreed timescales.
