Highfield School is an 11-19 secondary school for pupils with severe learning difficulties. Our pupils have a wide range of additional needs including speech, language and communication difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions, more complex learning needs, physical disabilities and a number have rare genetic disorders. Our school is popular and oversubscribed. Pupils benefit from our highly specialised teaching, outstanding pastoral care and the wide range of specialist support services and interventions we provide through our personalised programmes.
Governors are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Deputy Head Teacher with a passion for learning, with proven leadership and management skills to join our dedicated team.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
1. A track record of effective whole school leadership and management
2. Ambition, enthusiasm, resilience and a desire to make a difference
3. Commitment to continuous professional development and a sound understanding of the demands and responsibilities of a Deputy Headteacher
4. The ability to lead and motivate others
5. Excellent communication and organisational skills
